The course is designed for senior decision makers working across Government including Australia's nuclear agencies. 

The nuclear industry has developed over more than 70 years and is the most highly regulated industry globally. 

As a leader working in Australia's nuclear industry, it is important for you to have a full understanding of the nuclear context to support your decision making and success into the future.  

This 2-day course covers:

- Leadership in nuclear

- Safety culture, systems and processes

- Governance and the regulatory framework

- Nuclear security and safeguards

- Social licence and communication

- A VIP tour of the OPAL multi-purpose reactor, radioactive waste stores and other key nuclear facilities located at Lucas Heights. Please wear comfortable clothes and flat, closed-in shoes.

The course is led by ANSTO's Chief Nuclear Officer, Hefin Griffiths, and includes presentations from ANSTO subject matter experts; the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA); the Australian Safeguards and Non-Proliferation Office (ASNO) and the Australian Radioactive Waste Agency (ARWA).
