Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering

The Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering (ACNS) is a major research facility for neutron science that comprises a suite of neutron instruments with a range of techniques for scientific investigations in physics, chemistry, materials science, medicine and environmental science among other fields.

A world-class national research facility that uses accelerator technology to produce a powerful source of light-X rays and infrared radiation a million times brighter than the sun.

Centre for Accelerator Science

The Centre for Accelerator Science provides complementary capabilities to Synchrotron-based and the neutron-based research with the operation of four accelerators, associated beamlines, clean laboratories and in-house expertise in ion beam analysis (IBA) and accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS).

National Deuteration Facility

The National Deuteration Facility offers the facilities and expertise to produce molecules where all or part of the molecular hydrogen is replaced with deuterium. This enables complex investigations of the relationship between the structure of molecules and their function using neutron scattering and other techniques.
