ANSTO welcomes new Board appointment Professor Timothy Senden

Minister for Industry and Science, the Hon Ed Husic MP has formally announced the appointment of Professor Timothy Senden to the ANSTO Board.

The three-year appointment of Professor Senden, a Director of the Research School of Physics at ANU, to ANSTO’s Board will support ANSTO as Australia’s centre for nuclear excellence and as the largest national nuclear organisation.

“Professor Senden’s significant experience and expertise will be a valuable addition to the ANSTO Board, ensuring its continued excellence in making life-saving medicines for Australians,” Minister Husic said.

Professor Senden received his PhD in Atomic Force Microscopy from the Research School of Physics and Engineering, and has held prior academic positions at the College de France (Paris), Institute Charles de Sadron (Strasbourg), and the University of New South Wales (Australian Defence Force Academy) in Canberra.

ANSTO CEO Shaun Jenkinson extended a warm welcome to Professor Senden.

“Professor Senden’s expertise in the fields of physics and nuclear science will be an invaluable contribution to both ANSTO and Australia’s scientific research community,” Mr Jenkinson said.
