Training at ACNS
We regularly organise and run workshops to support those in the community wanting to understand how neutron scattering techniques can enhance their research. We have two types of courses that we regularly offer.
The first is our general neutron school, which is run every two years, often in conjunction with our international partners. This week-long course is designed as a general introduction to neutron scattering and comprises of lectures in each of the technics offered at the centre combined with hands on practicals on our neutron beam instruments. These courses are particularly suited to PhD students and early career researchers.
The second training offering is our specialist workshops, which focus on a particular technique and how users can optimise their use of previously collected data. These workshops are particularly suitable for participants who have already obtained or collected experimental data with us. Depending on the demand, these workshops can be run yearly, often in conjunction with our colleagues at the Australian Synchrotron. Regularly run workshops include:
Small angle scattering workshop
Powder diffraction analysis workshop
Imaging workshop
Reflectometry workshop
Inelastic workshop
